LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock is about to go on a major campaign for increased pedestrian safety. It includes (but is not limited to):
- 69 Wheelchair ramps
- 575 Pedestrian Signal Buttons
- 224 Pedestrian Countdowns
TxDOT will pick up most of the cost, $550,247 but the city must do a 20 percent match, $110,049. Many of the improvements will be near schools including Lubbock Christian and Texas Tech.
