Alex Williams named SAC Player of the week

Wayland Baptist post Alex Williams has been named Sooner Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 23-29.

A  5-11 sophomore from Amarillo, Williams scored 23 points in the Flying Queens' win over Northern New Mexico College. Her 23 points came on 81 percent shooting from the field (9-of-11) with one three-pointer and four free throws in as many attempts. She also had four rebounds, two steals, an assist and a blocked shot.

Williams, a graduate of Palo Duro High School, is averaging 11.8 points for the 4-2 Queens this season.  She is also pulling down six rebounds a game and is the conference leader in blocked shots with 13.
