CDC says H1N1 cases have dropped, but children are still in danger

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Cases of H1N1 continues to drop sharply across the U.S. The CDC says now there are just 32 states with widespread flu activity, which is down 11 states in just one week, but the CDC adds it is still a deadly disease, especially in young children.

There were 35 pediatric deaths reported last week alone and deaths from pneumonia or flu-like illnesses remain much higher than expected for this time of year. Nearly 99 % of the viruses tested were H1N1, a sign seasonal flu has not started to circulate yet.
