LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A semi truck was hit by a train on Friday morning, but luckily no one was injured.

The accident happened near Great Plains Distributor on Highway 84 around 7 a.m. The truck was leaving the business across the railroad tracks headed south and the driver didn't realize that the trailer of the truck was still on the railroad tracks.

The driver, 44-year-old John Gravelle, of Plainview, did not realize the trailer was still on the railroad tracks. The train sheared the truck in half but, fortunately, the trailer was empty and the cab sustained no damage.

The train had no damage and no injuries were reported.
