Elm Grove golf course closes its doors for good

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Several days ago NewsChannel 11 reported that the Elm Grove Golf Course was abruptly closed and at least two members were concerned about getting refunds.

The management company says pro-rated refunds will be offered next week.

IRI Golf Group CEO Jeff Silverstein says it was not his company's idea to close the course. He says the property owner could make more money by pursuing other ventures. "We were surprised the golf course was shut down, but there are viable offers for other developments," he said.

Silverstein also tells NewsChannel 11 "We thought it would remain a golf course for an extended period."

Elm Grove had been located at 34th and Milwaukee.
