LAMESA, TX (KCBD) - A former Dawson County Commissioner now stands indicted on two felonies in connection to an alleged assault on his wife. NewsChannel 11 first told you about this case in March, shortly after the wife of former commissioner Gilbert Teed called authorities saying her husband was assaulting her at their home.

Tejeda voluntarily surrendered to Dawson County Sheriff's Deputies shortly after a judged signed arrest warrants. He bonded out of jail, and resigned from his position as county commissioner in April.

According to the Lamesa Press-Reporter, a grand jury indicted Tejeda for assault and violation of a protective order on Wednesday. We'll continue to follow this case and bring you the latest as it develops.
