Texas Tech back in AP poll

LUBBOCK, TX - After their 99-92 overtime win against No. 10 Washington (6-1) last Thursday, Texas Tech (8-0) is back in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 rankings.

The Red Raiders hold down the 23rd spot in this week's AP listing. It is the first time Texas Tech has been among the AP's Top 25 teams since they were last ranked on March 14, 2005.

The Raiders are also listed in the 26th spot in the latest ESPN/USA Today Poll.

Earlier today, John Roberson was named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week. John sparked the Red Raiders in their victory over the Huskies, as Texas Tech extended their record to 8-0 for the first time since the 1929-1930 season.

The junior guard from Plano, Texas, finished with 25 points, the 13th 20-point outing of his career. He connected on 6-of-10 field goals, while hitting a career-best 13-of-13 from the free throw line. He also had two rebounds, seven assists and two steals in a career-high 43 minutes.

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are back on the road as they take on the TCU Horned Frogs on Tuesday at the Daniel-Meyer Coliseum in Fort Worth beginning at 6:30 PM.

The game will air on The Mtn. Network, which is available only on Direct TV. If you are a Direct TV subscriber, the game is scheduled to air on channel 616.

On the radio, Mark Finkner will call the courtside action along with analyst Corky Oglesby on the Texas Tech Sports Network flagship station Double T 104.3. The game will also be featured on Sirius channel 122.

After the break for final exams, the Red Raiders will be back in action at Wichita State on December 19 and at home against Stanford on December 22.
