New home permits up in November

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock is not out of recession yet. That is what some Lubbock experts said recently, but there is good news.

New home construction permits are up in Lubbock. The City granted 38 such permits for November, which is up from 26 in November of last year.

The permits are down compared to October, but often the Lubbock numbers go down for November, even in a good economy.

The latest dollar figures are in on existing home sales in Lubbock. According to Lubbock Association of REALTORS, from January 2008 thru January 2009, there was a drop of 21 percent in total residential property sales. In the same time period, the total resident dollar volume dropped by 19 percent.
