LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The District Attorney has filed formal charges against a man who is accused of hitting a Lubbock musician with his car back in September.

An arrest warrant was issued for 56-year-old James Sanders. Sanders is charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Court documents say Sanders was driving without his headlights on when he struck 40-year-old Mark Purvis outside the Lonestar Amphitheater on East 19th Street.

Witnesses say Purvis was taking pictures of his band's name on the marquee when he was hit. Sanders bond is set at $10,000.
