LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Just as some are breathing a sigh of relief and relaxing about the threat of the swine flu, the CDC now reminds us that one in six Americans, nearly 50 million people, have been sickened and the H1N1 virus has killed 11 hundred children. So, the CDC says this message is important, now more than ever.
"The more people who get vaccinated, the lower the likelihood will be of additional cases or third wave," said Thomas Frieden, M.D., and Director of the CDC.
The H1N1 vaccine is widely available now, with an estimated 85 million doses available at clinics and doctor's offices nationwide.
