LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - NewsChannel 11 has learned that Lubbock City Councilwoman Linda DeLeon is a recent victim of the bad economy. DeLeon and her husband own All American Concrete of Lubbock. DeLeon says collecting debts was the biggest problem for her business. She shut the doors on October 30th, in so doing she had to lay off seven employees.
DeLeon is trying to sell the business in order to preserve her own credit rating. DeLeon tells NewsChannel 11 that she did find a buyer but he was turned down for a loan by local banks.
