Doctors recommend not touching your face to help avoid getting the flu

By Kristin Beerman | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – As H1N1 and the seasonal flu continue to be a threat, guess what some say is the secret to not getting sick, keep your hands off your face.  Doctors say biting your nails is the worst thing you can do just rubbing your eyes could easily let the bug in and there's another way you can get sick in a hurry and it's not shaking hands.

"I don't think it's time to stop shaking hands, but it may be time to stop picking your nose," said John Carlo, M.D., and health director of Dallas County. Remember that comes from a doctor, so that's medical advice.
