LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A new study sheds light on the best way for a child or teen to lose a lot of weight.
Researchers looked at 130 teens trying to lose weight and they studied all the methods they used. They found the teens who were not successful at weight loss were the ones who tried laxatives, vomiting, smoking or fasting, but the teens were able to lose a lot of weight were the ones who added exercise to their routine and simply counted calories, cutting out sodas or junk food.
Researchers say this confirms there is no magic solution to losing weight, but eating more fruits and vegetables and getting off the couch can truly make a difference.
