LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock Cooper student is hospitalized following a collision at Woodrow Road and Slide Road on Thursday morning.
A 16-year-old male student was headed eastbound on Woodrow Road just before 8 a.m., when a Chevy Cobalt hit his van which skidded into a stop sign and rolled over. The two people in the Cobalt were taken to University Medical Center with moderate injuries and the Cooper student went to Covenant.
DPS Corporal John Gonzales says it appears the van failed to yield the right of way, therefore, the teen driver may be issued a citation.
A temporary stop sign has been put up at the intersection, to replace the damaged one. The names of those involved have not been released.
