Plastic surgeons say this Christmas many are asking for odd procedures

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) –  You might be surprised to hear what's on Santa's list this year, beyond the standard nips and tucks, more and more people are asking plastic surgeons to fix what they don't like, including fat calves and wrinkled ears.

"You can get that calf and lower leg to look much better, much sleeker, more feminine look. It's pretty aggressive, it's longer healing time, it's somewhat painful," said John Smoot, M.D., a plastic surgeon.

"Sometimes an elderly patient may have a floppy earlobe and we put fillers of fat into the earlobes to give it a more full, robust and youthful look to it," says Gilbert Lee, M.D., a plastic surgeon.

Dr. Lee says one odd request that's becoming fairly common is liposuction in the knee.  Whatever you'd like to fix or adjust, remember that when it comes to plastic surgery, patients should always seek out a board certified plastic surgeon.
