Deadly Evening on Lubbock Streets

Around 3:30a.m. Friday morning police say Julia Kyle rolled her truck at the south loop and MLK Boulevard. Police believe she fell asleep at the wheel causing her truck to veer off the loop. When she tried to correct it, her truck rolled several times eventually stopping in a cotton field. She died at the scene.

At about 12:45, two people were taken to University Medical Center following a wreck at Harvard and Globe streets. Police say the car was going south on Harvard when it went off the road and into a tree. Both people in the car had only moderate injuries.

Rescue crews used the jaws of life at this wreck around 11:30 Thursday evening. Police say the driver was speeding north on Indiana when he lost control at Clovis Highway. He jumped the median and slammed into a light pole. Once he was pulled from the wreckage, EMS took him to UMC with moderate injuries.
