Lubbock Police say a motorist who ran a red light is responsible for sending seven adults and children to the hospital Saturday afternoon. It happened at 4th St. and I-27 around 5:00.
Witnesses say the driver of a blue Chevy truck drove through a red light and collided with a red Ford pickup in the intersection. Police say there were three unrestrained children in the bed of the truck, inside a camper. Each suffered serious injuries. In the cab of the truck, four with moderate injuries: three adults and one infant - also, not in a car seat.
Lubbock EMS transported all seven, some to Covenant Medical Center, and some to University Medical Center. No one in the red truck was injured.
