More than 200 people showed up today in the biggest classroom at the medical school to learn about the new doctor who will lead the Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. Texas Tech Chancellor Kent Hance formally introduced Dr. Tedd Mitchell to his new academic family and to many from the community who are just interested in this new face for Texas Tech. The Chancellor says Dr. Mitchell brings new prestige to the corner office.

Don't forget the march for babies this Saturday at Mackenzie Park. That effort by the March of Dimes last year raised a quarter of a million dollars and this year, the goal in Lubbock alone is $325,000, money that is saving the lives of babies.
