Texas Tech became the second team in the Big 12 Conference to clinch a spot in the upcoming Big 12 Championships in Oklahoma City.

Texas Tech (36-16) earned a split for the day as the Red Raiders beat Kansas, 5-3, and then lost to No. 2 seed Oklahoma, 2-0. With the loss Tech is out of the Big 12 tournament.

Lubbock Police arrested a man Saturday night after chasing him for more than an hour. Police shut down 29th Street between Avenue X and University Avenue as they searched for the suspect.

Get ready for more road blocks around Lubbock. The Texas Department of Transportation will close 4th Street from Avenue A to MLK Jr. Boulevard starting Sunday morning.

Friday's storms didn't help crews working to change the frequency of Lubbock's Instrument Landing System (ILS). The Federal Aviation Administration decided to change the frequency after problems earlier this year.

State Representative Carl Isett says he'll resign from his seat effective May 31st instead of finishing out the full term. Democrat Carol Morgan, who's running against Republican John Frullo for the position announced she'd run in a special election, but called it unnecessary and irresponsible.
