NewsChannel 11 speaks with Mike Leach

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - NewsChannel 11 has confirmed that Mike Leach is no longer in the State of Texas, ending questions about whether he would be at Saturday's Alamo Bowl game in San Antonio.

Leach says he is going to lay low while his attorney, Ted Liggett, prepares the next legal move against Texas Tech.

While disappointed it came to his termination, Leach says he understands, unfortunately, it's part of the business.

He says he knows he will land on his feet somewhere, with 84 wins and a stellar graduation rate.

He also wants to thank everyone for a decade of good times in Lubbock. "I have 10 great years and I just want to thank all our fans and the Red Raider family for all the good times we've had.  That's it.  This time, I don't have any comment, but the time has come."
