LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Convicted local businessman Benny Judah's house has been liquidated by a federal court. Judah pleaded guilty to running a Ponzi scheme that could cost local investors up to $50 million.
In an attempt to get back at least some of the investors' money a federal court receivership confiscated Judah's assets including his home at 4701 111th street. The home is worth more than a million dollars.
But the highest bidder was Milton and Mary Montgomery, who agreed to pay $850,000 for the house and the furnishings inside. A judge signed off on the deal last week.
