Sunday collision hurts two and kills one

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A fatal collision in South Lubbock has investigators trying to figure out what happened before a car crossed into oncoming traffic Sunday evening.

Lubbock police say Chasity Killian, 36, was northbound in the 96-hundred block of Quaker near the Lakeridge Golf Course around 6 p.m.   She lost control of her gray Hyundai Elantra and drove into on-coming traffic.  Her car was hit on the passenger side by a Toyota Corolla that was headed south.

The driver of the Corolla, Melissa Wilson was taken to Covenant.   She is listed in stable condition.   Jaws of life were used to free her passenger Claire Kelly.  She is in serious condition at University Medical Center.

Killian was pronounced dead at UMC.
