LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A fatal collision in South Lubbock has investigators trying to figure out what happened before a car crossed into oncoming traffic Sunday evening.

Lubbock police say 36-year-old Chasity Killian was northbound in the 9600 Block of Quaker near the Lakeridge Golf Course around 6pm. She lost control of her gray Hyundai Elantra and drove into oncoming traffic where she was hit on the passenger side by a Toyota Corolla that was headed south.

The driver of the Corolla, Melissa Wilson, was taken to Covenant. She is listed in stable condition.

Jaws-of-life was used to free her passenger Claire Kelly. She is in serious condition at University Medical Center.

Killian was pronounced dead at UMC.
