Arctic blast to hit by this evening

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD)- While you are out and about this morning expect patchy fog, and cold temperatures. This afternoon skies will be partly cloudy, breezy, and warmer. By this evening temperatures will be much colder. A few light showers are possible. Tonight skies will remain cloudy, temperatures will be bitterly cold, with sub-zero wind chills likely.

Thursday is forecasted to be very cold with sub-zero wind chills early, with  mostly cloudy skies. Friday there is a chance of snow along with cloudy skies and very cold temperatures.

This cold spell will be the coldest in Lubbock since December of 2005, and may come close to rivaling those in the 80's. If you have to have yet to have plumbing problems due to cold temperatures, you might want to consider the potential affects of more than 60 hours of freezing temperatures.
