LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Leaders at University Medical Center say a water main break is now fixed. Wednesday afternoon, they were waiting for full pressure throughout the facility.
UMC Vice President Greg Bruce tells NewsChannel 11 that crews had to relocate a line for construction of the new east tower, but the connection failed around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Bruce says that caused the entire hospital to lose water pressure, but he says patient services were not effected.
"Fortunately we didn't have any delay in surgical procedures, no cancellations. We also have bottled water that is available to our patients for medication and their use in events like this," Bruce said. Hospital administration asked people to conserve water as pressure is restored.
