After almost a decade of planning, the new Lubbock County Detention Center is nearly ready to open it's doors to inmates. This weekend, KCBD NewsChannel 11's Michael Slother spent nearly 24 hours in the facility to see what it's like to be on the other side.

A Lubbock winery sold for $6.5 million in an auction held Monday afternoon. KCBD NewsChannel 11 was there at 1 p.m., when the bidding began. And by 1:14 p.m., the winery was sold.

A team of cyclists participating in Journey of Hope made a pit stop in Lubbock Monday, July 12 to continue raising funds and awareness for people with disabilities. The Journey of Hope team consists of men from the national fraternity Pi Kappa Phi.
