LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - In the race for District 84 State Representative, Mark Griffin announced his candidacy on Wednesday and laid out his platform.
He says his priorities would be education, especially helping Tech to receive tier one status. He thinks his experience on the LISD Board of Trustees and Texas Tech Board of Regents would help him to get this done.
He also said he supports free enterprise with limited government regulations and local control of issues such as water distribution.
"I'm a life long resident of this community. I think I understand the rhythm of Lubbock. I think I understand the citizenry here, and I can tell you they deserve the very best effort of whoever stands in this position," says Griffin.
He will run against Ysidro Gutierrez and John Frullo in the Republican primary on March 2nd.
