Frenship taking steps to ensure safety of students during arctic front

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Frenship I.S.D. is notifying faculty, staff, and students to be prepared for the severe weather that will hit the South Plains Wednesday night.

Parents are encouraged to dress their children appropriately for the inclement weather, especially those students who may be waiting at an outside bus stop for a period of time.

Frenship Assistant Facilities Director Marty Walters adds if school continues as scheduled tomorrow and Friday, the local gas supply for heat in the buildings is sufficient and necessary heat at all campuses will be supplied.

Frenship I.S.D. and the City of Wolfforth are also sharing forces to ensure the safety of Frenship students. Wolfforth City Manager Darryl Newsom says the Wolfforth Police Department will help the efforts of the Frenship I.S.D. Police Department in patrolling city and area bus stops.

Information on potential delays or cancellations by the district will be provided as soon as decisions are made.
