LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock massage therapist is indicted for health care fraud involving more than $2 million of total billing. Kawai Ary-Berry was indicted back in December but made her initial appearance in federal court on Wednesday.

Ary-Berry is a licensed massage therapist but not a licensed physical therapist. The indictment says she falsified her credentials on billing forms pertaining to federal employee health benefits. The indictment indicates some of her billing was for actual supplies and services while some was not.

Ary-Berry was allowed to post bond and remain out of jail. Various websites indicate her business is the Pain Relief Center in the 2300 block of 50th street. If convicted, Ary-Berry could be made to forfeit $1 million, according to the indictment.
