A former Lubbock police officer accused of assault and making an illegal arrest is getting his job back. Officer Nick Medina was accused of illegally arresting a woman named Latoya White in October of 2001, and falsifying a police report about the arrest. Medina maintained he was innocent of all charges.
Today, an arbitrator found Medina guilty of 3 of the 4 counts against him. He was found "not guilty" of using deadly force. Officer nick Medina will therefore be reinstated to the Lubbock police department.
