LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - NewsChannel 11 has received reports that Jerry Gray with the Washington Redskins, has said he will come to Texas Tech in a heartbeat to be the Head Coach at TTU.
Jerry Gray, the Washington Redskins Secondary-Cornerbacks Coach and Estacado Grad told Pete Christy he is more than interested in being Texas Tech's next head coach.
Gray has more than 20 years of NFL experience: nine seasons as a player and 13 as an assistant coach. He had been rumored to be the University of Memphis' and the Redskins next head coach, but he told NewsChannel 11's Pete Christy that to get to come home would be the best fit for him.
He points out, like Nick Saban at Alabama, who has NFL experience, he thinks bringing his pro-experience to Lubbock would help the Red Raiders soar to the next level.
NewsChannel 11's Pete Christy will have more on Gray tonight in sports.
