LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Some of the most outspoken fans in the Texas Tech football controversy have been those who call themselves "Team Leach." It started as a facebook group, but now they have almost 60,000 members. They've taken donations for advertisements such as digital billboards and television commercial space. They've also planned a rally for Coach Leach on Thursday at 1 p.m. at Memorial Circle.
However Team Leach says they still support Tuberville as well. "We'd like to congratulate Coach Tuberville on the new position. He has our support, but we'd also like to keep the attention where it belonged in the first place. That is on the administration of Texas Tech. We're still looking for answers as to what happened with Leach, and we're still not happy about it," said Team Leach spokesperson, Blaze Butler.
The group plans to send University officials invitations to attend the rally, and they hope answer some questions as well.
