LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Too much television may be a bigger risk than you may think and taking time away from your lifetime. That is according to a seven year study in Australia, which monitored various health indicators, like blood pressure and cholesterol, and their TV habits.
Researchers found for each hour spent in front of the TV, the risk of death from all causes went up 11% and the risk for a heart-related death went up by 18%. Of course, the problem is not the TV, unless you're doing nothing while you watch it.
By the way, the study also found the risk applies to people of all sizes, not just those who are overweight.
