A former Lubbock Power and Light Director could be preparing to step up to take on the director's job again. Interim Lubbock City Manager Tommy Gonzales confirmed Friday night that he has approached former LP&L Director Carroll McDonald to fill the vacant director position.
The 69-year-old McDonald retired as LP&L Director in the early nineties. The position became available earlier this year when former Director, Paul Thompson, stepped down. McDonald worked with Southwestern Public Service for 30 years, and he was with LP&L for 15 years.
Gonzales would not confirm or deny whether or not he is considering anyone else.
