Students Helping During Spring Break

Helping others on their vacation, that's what 20 Texas Tech students are doing this Spring Break. On Saturday morning, Red Raiders representing the Baptist Student Ministry loaded up their cars for a week of missionary work in San Antonio.

Keith Garner, Director of the Baptist Student Ministry, says they will spend their days hosting bible clubs and sports camps for about 700 kids in government housing projects and low income areas of San Antonio.

"We're working with local Baptist churches there, and we're going to be doing backyard bible clubs which will include bible lessons, crafts, some music, memorize some bible verses, and in the afternoons, they'll be doing sports camps which will be soccer, basketball, then we'll have some frisbee games and other games," says Garner.

The students will also be working with other church groups from across the state.
