Lubbock, TX (KCBD) – The investigation continues into a Tuesday night fire. The blaze broke out at around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday evening, causing significant damage to three units at the Waterford Apartments in North West Lubbock.
Firefighters pulled water lines over the second floor balcony at the Waterford Apartments to reach the flames in building 8.
Investigators say the flames caused in excess of $50,000 in damage primarily to the unit where the blaze started and heavy smoke damage to the two units on each side.
One neighbor, Anna Trattles, whose apartment was not damaged in Tuesday's fire believes faulty wiring may be to blame. "Her thermometer was sparking and she complained to the office about it and said they had not fixed it," says Trattles.
NewsChannel 11 contacted property managers who say the investigation into this fire is still ongoing and they have no documented complaints from the tenants of apartment 810, where investigators believe the fire started.
This is still an open investigation. The Lubbock Fire Marshall's Office was back on the scene Wednesday examining the apartment.
