Airports around the world were on the alert Monday to screen out and isolate passengers who may be carrying a mysterious pneumonia virus, which has killed nine people and infected over 100 in Asia, Canada, and Germany.
It's called the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, or SARS, and it starts with high fever, chills, coughing, breathing difficulty, and can deteriorate quickly to pneumonia. South Korea joined China and Taiwan to warn its citizens against traveling to mainland China, Hong Kong, and Vietnam, where most of the infections have occurred.
