LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Life can be tough. We all face different challenges - money is tight, the job isn't turning out, you don't have a job, loved ones get sick... whatever the case, it seems nothing is ever perfect.
Then we turn on the television and see what's happened in Haiti, and suddenly our problems don't seem so big. One week into this indescribable tragedy, the death toll is estimated at 200,000 and another 1.5 million homeless. You see, most of the folks over there would love to have our so called "problems" right now.
Consider this; join me this week and let's be thankful for what we do have, not for what we don't have. And maybe that thankfulness can turn into a gift for the folks dealing with the devastation in Haiti. Lubbock's leaders have made it easy. You can give at any branch of American State Bank or add to your grocery bill at any United Supermarkets.
Any gift, big or small, will go to help our fellow man, and that gesture just might remind us that we really have very little to complain about.
