Overstreet withdraws grievance against the City of Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Former City employee withdraws his grievance against the City of Lubbock one day before proceedings were scheduled to begin.

Attorneys for former Animal Services Director Kevin Overstreet, delivered a letter to the City on Wednesday saying Overstreet was withdrawing his request for a grievance.

Overstreet sent this statement to NewsChannel 11:

"The ultimate purpose of the grievance process is to attempt to resume my employment with the City of Lubbock. I have decided that it is not in the best interest of my family to pursue that goal at this time."

He requested a grievance after the city fired him in November.
