LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A man died Wednesday in Andrews while cleaning an oil rig during high wind conditions.
Sheriff's deputies say 27-year-old Kelly Dustin Sealy, of Andrews, was found trapped about 30-feet above the rig floor. Investigators on the scene say he was lifted in a safety harness to wash the inside of the derrick. As he was being lowered, the cable he was using as a guide came loose and trapped him.
Emergency crews eventually freed him, but Sealy was pronounced dead at the scene.
