Assault of elderly Lubbock woman may be tied to serial rapist case

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Police are waiting for DNA results of the man who sexually assaulted an elderly Lubbock woman on Saturday, to see if the case is connected to a serial rapist.

Police think the sexual assault of the 87 year old Lubbock woman could be linked to the ‘Twilight Rapist' who sexually assaulted or attempted to assault at least eight women and robbed four homes.  His victims all live alone and are between 65 to 91 years old.

If connected to the ‘Twilight Rapist' this will be the first time a picture has surfaced. Surveillance photos show the suspect who assaulted the Lubbock woman using her ATM card after he stole her purse.

Lubbock Police have scheduled a news conference for 4 p.m.
