Sentencing begins for man guilty of sexually assaulting Tech girl

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Sentencing began for a man who pleaded guilty to burglary of a habitation and aggravated sexual assault back in March of 2009.

Emotions ran high in court as the victim, a 24-year-old Texas Tech student, gave her account of the day she was brutally raped and robbed. Twenty-one-year-old Kevin Price, one of the five suspects involved in the burglary and rape just sat in court, barely able to look at the victim.

Price finally broke down when his mother took the stand. When she brought up Price's two children, a three year old and four year old girl, Price couldn't hold back his tears.

Around 4:00 P.M., Price took the stand himself going over what happened that night. Price says he never wanted to go to the victim's home in the first place and that he had no intentions of sexually assaulting the victim. Price did admit he was intoxicated that night; however he did dispute some of the victim's testimony regarding the assault.

Sentencing will continue Tuesday morning at 9 a.m.
