LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Street crews spent the day re-stocking salt supplies and repairing vehicles to fight off the winter weather in the forecast for the South Plains.
Multiple agencies, including DPS, TxDOT and City street crews met with the National Weather Service to coordinate response efforts. City of Lubbock street crews are keeping a close eye on conditions.
At the first sight of icy conditions, salt trucks will hit the streets and a 24-hour shift will start. If conditions are bad, officials want to remind drivers to allow extra time to get where you are going and drive cautiously.
