Lubbock breaks ground for new animal shelter

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – After years of debate, Lubbock finally broke ground for the new animal shelter on Thursday. The new location is at 3511 South Loop 289.

Last summer, the City purchased the 15-acres after three other locations were rejected.  The new animal shelter is expected to have updated technology and will house more animals than the old one.

The finish date is set for March of 2011.
