Flights canceled at Lubbock Preston Smith Int'l Airport

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Flights leaving in and out of Lubbock have been canceled all day.

Twelve Estacado High School students were supposed to be on their way to Houston early Thursday morning.

Estacado Decathlon Coach Dennise Morris said, "We've been waiting here since about 8 o'clock this morning, we were hoping to get on the 9:30 flight to go to Houston to compete in the Small School Academic Decathlon Competition, but we've been waiting since then."

After hours of waiting the team finally caught a flight late Thursday afternoon.

Flight officials say they'll continue to de-ice and plow the runways to keep flights running smoothly. Before heading to the airport, it is recommended you check with your airline for specific information about your flight.
