South Plains power outage update

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Spokesperson from Xcel Energy, Steve Deaton, tells NewsChannel 11 that icy conditions have caused scattered outages in rural areas, including: Lorenzo, Ralls, Muleshoe, Plainview, and Hale Center.

Deaton says as of 9:30 a.m., there are no major outages in the City of Lubbock.

A power outage in Halfway, just northeast of Hale Center, and in Shallowater because of ice on the lines. No word when the power will be back on.
