Update: Winter Conditions lead to crashes, downed power lines

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Lubbock roadways became dangerous just after 10 am with numerous reports of traffic accidents all over town.  Rain became freezing rain, creating slick conditions.  Tree limbs are also down along major streets, for example 19th and Elgin.   Hundreds of Lubbock & South Plains residents lost power starting about 9:30 am.  There are also reports of downed power lines in the streets.  One downed power line caused a tree fire.

Just before 10:30 AM TxDOT announced that the main lanes of Interstate 27 under the North Loop are closed due to water on the roadway.

Numerous schools in the greater Lubbock area are dismissing early.  Some schools are planning delayed start times on Friday morning.

Though the full scope of the investigation is not clear, the information requests make evident at least some of the areas that Mueller and his team of prosecutors intend to look into and also reveal a strong interest in certain of Trump's actions as president.
