Area colleges postpone basketball games due to weather

Thursday's scheduled Sooner Athletic Conference basketball doubleheader between Wayland Baptist and John Brown University has been postponed due to inclement weather. The games will be played on Friday with the women to tip-off at 2 p.m. followed by the men at 4 p.m.

The South Plains College Texans will not be traveling to Roswell, N.M. Thursday afternoon as the matchup versus the New Mexico Military Institute has been postponed due to hazardous weather conditions.  The game has been rescheduled for 3 p.m. MST (4 p.m. CST) Friday, January 29th.

Due to the inclement weather moving through West Texas and the ice storm warning issued by the National Weather Service, Thursday night's Sooner Athletic Conference basketball games featuring Lubbock Christian University and Rogers State University have been postponed until Friday. The women's contest between the No.20 LCU Lady Chaparrals and the No.25 Rogers State Hillcats will begin at 2 p.m. inside Rip Griffin Center, with the men's contest following at 4 p.m.
