LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – The First Lady is making health headlines from Capitol Hill. Thursday, she launched a new effort to fight childhood obesity.
"We need to give parents better nutritional information, provide healthier options at school since that is where many kids get their meals, children need to be spending less time in front of TV and more time exercising, having fun doing what they do, which is play," said First Lady Michelle Obama
The First Lady admitted that it's not going to be easy because healthy food isn't always convenient or affordable to some families. But this new effort will combine strategies from the government, non-profit organizations, and pediatricians to make an impact on our children's waistlines.
