LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – Largest donation ever made towards any single cause, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has pledged ten billion dollars for vaccine research and immunizations in poor countries. The foundation's goal is to protect 90% of children against diseases that are most dangerous in the world's poorest countries, like diarrhea and pneumonia.

Now, the World Health Organization has called on governments and private donors to add to this massive donation, because it's estimated this one pledge from the Gates Foundation will already save nearly eight million children under the age of five.
